I love listening to the sound of rain
I love breathing it in, not an aroma as such
but more a sensation, an inner cleansing of the soul
I find it comforting, companionable
Today as I listen to it and allow it to move through me
it stirs into awareness another gentle melody
One that I sense in my heart that is ancient
and is calling to me, inviting me gently into its presence
It feels to me like a loving, soothing embrace
I know this melody very well and yet I have not heard it
for a very long time, beyond this lifetime for sure
I sit quietly, contemplating my choices in this moment
as even in the stillness and the peace
of having no thoughts, just being, there is movement
that is life sensing life evermore
